About this tour

Take the official Statue City Cruises ferry from Battery Park to Liberty Island. With your Pedestal Reserve ticket, you go inside the Statue of Liberty’s pedestal for views over New York Harbor and the Manhattan skyline.

Then continue to Ellis Island, where millions of immigrants first arrived in America. Our City Guide tells their stories, and the Statue’s, at your own pace.

Know before you go

  • Your ticket time is your security check-in time, not the ferry departure. Arrive at least 30 minutes before your ticket time: lines can take more than an hour at busy times.
  • Pedestal visitors pass a second security check at the Statue.
  • Backpacks, purses, diaper bags, strollers and umbrellas are fine on the ferry and the islands. Pedestal visitors must leave them in a locker on Liberty Island (25¢ deposit, quarters only, up to 2 hours).
  • Suitcases, carry-on luggage and large parcels are not allowed on the ferries or the islands, and there is no storage at Battery Park.
  • Inside the monument, no food or drinks except water in a clear plastic bottle (no metal or glass bottles).
  • With a departure at 2 PM or later, you may not have time to visit Ellis Island.
  • Children 3 and under ride free and do not need a ticket.
